Switch aim to bring the highest quality LED downlights to the market, based not just on the use of the best diodes but also in design and construction quality – this leads to a product range that boasts 60,000 Hour L70 lifetime, and zero-millimetre clearance to building elements.
A standard 5 year warranty on the fixtures and proven lifetimes give peace of mind.
Switch Lighting are one of the only companies to offer a full range of colour temperatures for all of their range, so you can get exactly the performance you want from your lights. The options in their range are: 2700k (the standard light bulb), 3000k (halogen) and 4000k Cool White.
All of Switch Lighting's fixtures are made from high quality aluminium and are powdercoated in White, Silver or Black as standard finish options. This durable finish is harder wearing than most similar product and much of their range can used in exteriors, or inside coastal properties without fear of corrosion.
The E-Light and E-Light Mini are Wide Angle products, these give an effect and performance of a traditional incandescent downlight. Low Power options for these lights are offered to produce the effect of running lower wattage lamps where appropriate.
The D-Light range are Medium Angle products, this gives effect and performance of a traditional halogen downlight. The D-Light range offers three chassis choices – the standard flat D-Light, the D-Light Tilt and the subtle D-Light Low Glare. Multiple beam angles are offered in each of these fixtures for use where appropriate.
With all products classified as IC-F, dimmable drivers and zero clearance required (to timber) they are a fantastic product range to use from the perspective of installers.

As lighting is both personal and subjective, one size does not fit all.
The differing models of Switch product lend themselves to particular uses – please discuss your lighting requirements with one of our designers.
As a rough guideline however - the key is in understanding the difference between Wide and Medium angle.
The Wide Angle product, with its opal diffuser has a particular appearance and in terms of lighting is a very non-defined beam pattern. Look to space these as per traditional incandescent downlights.
Low Power variants are offered for use in smaller areas – consider that many rooms would benefit more from two fixtures at a lower intensity than a single, very powerful fixture. Other rooms (eg, toilets) just don’t require 700+ lumen output light. It can be likened to putting a smaller wattage lamp into a fixture.

Medium Angle product has a much more subtle, architectural style of performance and appearance. The more defined beam angle allows for greater flexibility of lighting effects, for example – washing walls/artwork, pooling light over furniture, kitchen benches etc. Look to space these as per traditional halogen downlights.
Multiple beam angles are offered (60, 40 and 20 Degree options), in much the same way traditional halogen lamps offered. These are used to create an intentional effect or to account for high stud height.
A combination of D-Light Tilts and D-Light Low Glare can produce a very upmarket look in living spaces.
